Author Robert J. Sawyer to host documentary tv series

Canadian sf author Robert J. Sawyer has a new gig: television host. He’ll be hosting Supernatural Investigator, a 17-part, half-hour documentary series for Canada’s Vision TV. The show will premiere on Tuesday 27 January 2009 at 10:30PM EST, and air every Tuesday thereafter until 19 May.
As Sawyer writes on his blog: “Each week, a different investigator takes an open-minded but skeptical look at an intriguing case—such as the supposed abduction by aliens of Betty and Barney Hill, the mysterious death of Harry Houdini, and the US government’s clandestine research into remote viewing.”
He was able to record all the introductions and farewells in one weekend, and has one more day of shooting scheduled, to narrate three of the episodes.
Vision TV is a not-for-profit charitable organization, which claims to be “Canada’s (and the world’s) only multi-faith network.” It’s two programming streams include the multi-religious Mosaic and Cornerstone (which appears to be where Supernatural Investigator will appear), which offers programs that “focus on ‘spirituality’ in its broadest possible context (classical music, feature films, documentaries, series on social concerns and interests, family dramas such as Neon Rider and Little House on the Prairie and even British comedies).”
