Editor and fan Soren “Scraps” DeSelby had a hemorrhagic stroke on 6 October 2008. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at New York Methodist Hospital in Park Slope (Brooklyn), New York. Patrick and Teresa Nielsen Hayden are updating his condition on their blog, Making Light.
The latest news is “guardedly hopeful”: he is not in a coma and understands language. The inoperable hematoma hasn’t enlarged. Of course, there are no guarantees in such cases.
