New webzine Expanded Horizons launches, seeking “diversity”

The first issue of new webzine Expanded Horizons has launched. Subtitled “Speculative Fiction for the Rest of Us”, the ‘zine is edited by 27-year-old lawyer and gamer “Dash”. The ‘zine’s announced “mission” is “to increase diversity in speculative fiction and to create a venue for the authentic expression of under-represented voices in the genre.” It goes on to list, specifically, “people of color; ethnic diversity; authentically portrayed women, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and asexual people; people with disabilities,” and more. They’re paying $30 for stories up to 6,000 words.
