Arkham Tales to be new early 20th century electronic pulp magazine

Arkham Tales is scheduled to be a new, free, quarterly pdf magazine “devoted to ‘weird’ fiction: supernatural suspense and adventure stories informed by (though not imitative of) the pulp fiction of the early 20th century.” The first issue, edited and published by Nathan Shumate, is scheduled to be available in November 2008.
The submission guidelines are emphatic that they’re not looking for fanfic or “continuations of other writers’ characters or worlds.” They only want original fiction, and they’re offering one cent per word. Additionally, they’ll be looking for artwork, and paying for it as well. The full page of guidelines is available on this page.
Shumate is the proprietor of Cold Fusion Video Reviews, and a writer in his own right. Joining him on the magazine’s Editorial Board are Eldritch Tales Editor Crispin Burnham and short story writer Christopher Jackson.
