Larry Niven and Edward M. Lerner’s Fleet of Worlds now in paperback

Edward M. Lerner writes that Fleet of Worlds his first collaboration with Larry Niven (and Niven’s first book-length “Known Space” collaboration) has just been re-released by Tor as a mass market paperback, presaging the publication of sequel Juggler of Worlds (which will be out on 16 September). Fleet of Worlds was a “Sci Fi Essential” novel (part of Tor’s co-branding venture with the Sci Fi Channel) when it was first published last September, and was a finalist for this year’s Prometheus Award. In it, the story of five worlds fleeing the galaxy at near light-speed—which were first glimpsed in Ringworld—is finally told. In their flight from the supernovae chain reaction in the galactic core, “the alien Puppeteers reveal few of their secrets—and in Fleet of Worlds we discover the dark secrets the aliens needed to hide.…”
