The Mythopoeic Society announced the winners of the 2008 Mythopoeic Awards on 17 August at Mythcon XXXIX at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut. A full description of the awards was published in this article, along with lists of all the nominees.
The winners are:
Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature: Orphan’s Tales (consisting of In the Night Garden and In the Cities of Coin and Spice) by Catherynne M. Valente (Spectra)
Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature: The entire seven-volume Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling (Bloomsbury)

Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Myth and Fantasy Studies: The Shadow-Walkers: Jacob Grimm’s Mythology of the Monstrous edited by T.A. Shippey (Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies)
I read the first book in the Orphan’s Tale and I believe that it was well worth the award.
