The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America has launched a new web site specifically for their Nebula Awards: www.nebulaawards.com. Programmed by Tony Geer and edited by David De Beer, the site is “designed to accomplish one of the primary goals of SFWA: to encourage public interest in and appreciation for science fiction and fantasy literature,” according to outgoing SFWA President Michael Capobianco. “This is also the goal of the Nebulas and the other awards that SFWA presents, and what I envisioned for nebulaawards.com is a website that will promote excellence in science fiction and fantasy by promoting the Nebula Awards, Andre Norton Award, and the Damon Knight Grand Master as exemplars of the best that sf and fantasy have to offer.”
De Beer says “The website will be an online repository for information pertaining to the Nebulas, Andre Norton Award, Grand Master and Author Emeritus Awards. There’s currently a photo gallery of this year’s Nebula ceremony, as well as an interview with Nancy Kress, by Jen West. More interviews with the rest of the nominees will follow, and we will be adding more content and features during the coming months as well.”
