Editor Roby James is now reading submissions for Warrior Wisewoman 2, the second volume of her new annual anthology series published by Norilana Books. As with the first, she’s looking “for stories that shed light on the truth of what it means to be female, that illuminate the wisdom and the strenght of a woman, but not in the cliché ‘goddess’ stories.” She loves action and adventure, grand space opera, thrilling discovery, and intelligent protagonists. She wants stories that are “thoughtful, wise, and surprising.”
James is paying two cents per word on acceptance (plus a share of royalties) for stories up to 10,000 words long. Her reading period will open on 1 August and close on 15 December 2008. For complete guidelines, see this page.
