Actor Don S. Davis Dies

Stargate web site GateWorld is reporting that actor Don S. Davis died 29 June 2008 of a massive heart attack. Born in Aurora, Missouri, on 4 August 1942, he may be best known for his role as Major General George Hammond in more than 150 episodes of Stargate SG-1. He had previously worked with series star Richard Dean Anderson on MacGyver, when he was Dana Elcar’s body double.

(1994), Highlander (1993), Needful Things (1993), Nightmare Cafe (1992), Twin Peaks (1991), Hook (1991), Beyond the Stars (1989), Watchers (1988), and I-Man (1986).
Davis double majored in theater and art at Southwest Missouri State College in 1965, and then served three years in the US Army in Korea. He received his Master’s and PhD in theater from Southern Illinois University in 1970 and 1982, respectively.
