Pyr Books Editorial Director Lou Anders writes to announce several recent purchases:
Mike Resnick‘s Stalking the Dragon, which is book three in his John Justin Mallory series, via Eleanor Wood of the Spectrum Literary Agency. The book is about a detective in a fantasy Manhattan around the corner from our own.
Justina Robson‘s Chasing the Dragon—which will be book four in her Quantum Gravity series—and an untitled fifth novel in the series, via John Parker of MBA Literary Agents Ltd.
DC/Vertigo comic writer Matthew Sturges‘s Midwinter, “about a disgraced member of Queen Titania’s Royal Guard offered a parole from a life sentence in exchange for a mission vital to the Seelie Crown (and threatening to the Unseelie one!).” Sturges was part of the Clockwork Storybook group that included Chris Roberson and Vertigo Fables scribe Bill Willingham. Sturges writes Blue Beetle, the Eisner-nominated Jack of Fables (co-authored with Willingham), House of Mystery, and other comics.
When asked if he had really purchasing both Chasing the Dragon and Stalking the Dragon from different authors at the same time, Anders told SFScope: “I did indeed. Utterly differnet books but they’ll be out around the same time too.”
