MoCCA Art Festival to host Friends of Lulu Awards

In conjunction with this year’s Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (MoCCA) Art Festival, the Friends of Lulu is moving its annual Lulu Awards from the San Diego Comic-Con to New York City. Friends of Lulu is the national nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote and encourage female readership and participation in the comic book industry. The awards “bring attention to the best, most women-friendly and reader- friendly work in comics and recognize the work of women comics creators of the past.”
The Lulu Awards will be handed out at the MoCCA Gallery, 594 Broadway, Suite 401, on 7 June at 8PM. Admission to the awards is $8, but free for FoL and MoCCA members, and refreshments will be served.
