The Lambda Literary Foundation announced the winners of their 20th annual Lambda Literary Awards. The awards ceremony, on 29 May in West Hollywood, California, drew more than 300 attendees. A jury of judges “from all walks of literary life: journalists, authors, booksellers, librarians, playwrights, illustrators” chose the winners from among 107 finalists in 21 categories, based on LGBT content and quality of writing.
Two categories are of special interest to sf/f/h readers. The winner in the LGBT Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror category is The Dust of Wonderland by Lee Thomas (Alyson Books). In the Women’s Memoir/Biography cateogyr, Nicola Griffith’s And Now We Are Going to Have a Party is the winner.
