Doctorow reading to benefit CBLDF

On 25 May, Cory Doctorow will give a reading and question-and-answer session in New York City as a benefit for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Doctorow will be reading from Little Brother, his New York Times best selling young adult fiction debut, though the event will be for people of all ages.
General admission tickets to the reading, which will be at 5PM on 25 May in the New York City comedy nightclub Comix (353 West 14th Street, New York, NY 10014) are $20 in advance ($25 at the door). VIP admission, for $100, includes preferred seating, a copy of the book, and an invitation to the After Party. General admission tickets are available from this link; VIP tickets are available here.
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund provides legal defense on behalf of artists, retailers, and librarians facing criminal and civil prosecution for First Amendment related actions. The Fund also fights unconstitutional legislation that threatens First Amendment rights.
Little Brother address “internet and government security, censorship, and civil liberties in a post-9/11 atmosphere. It tackles timely issues while telling a smart, funny, and jam-packed-with-pop culture story: How young is too young to change the world? Do you know exactly what it means—every time you use your credit card, every time you log onto a website, every time you swipe your metro card, every time you walk into a public space? Do you know who’s watching you? Cory Doctorow explores these questions and more in the novel Neil Gaiman calls ‘A wonderful, important book,’ and Brian K. Vaughan dubs ‘A worthy younger sibling to Orwell’s 1984.'”
