Top Box Office Grossers: Second Week of April

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 11-17 April 2008. New horror release Prom Night topped the charts, taking in nearly $23.5 million. Nim’s Island dropped from #2 to #4 in its second week, grossing $10.9 million this week for a total of $27.2 million. Horton Hears a Who dropped from #4 to #6, taking in $7.3 million, for a five-week total of $140.9 million. The Ruins is down from #5 to #8, with a box office take of $4.5 million, for a two-week total of $14.6 million. Superhero Movie dropped from #6 to #9, bringing in $3.9 million for a three-week total of $22.0 million.
10,000 B.C. dropped out of the top 10, from #9 to #11, garnering $1.9 million for a six-week total of $92.2 million. Shutter dropped from #10 to #15, grossing $1.4 million, for a four-week total of $25.1 million.
