Flashing Swords Press is publishing The Return of the Sword, an anthology of heroic fantasy fiction.
Managing Editor Jason M. Waltz claims that “good, no, great, heroic fantasy in the short form is hard to find.” So they’ve produced this 20-story anthology—with a cover by Johnney Perkins—of “blood-pounding, spine-tingling stories by some of fantasy’s most critically acclaimed Sword and Sorcery authors.” Contributors include: Stacey Berg, Bill Ward, Phil Emery, Jeff Draper, Nicholas Ian Hawkins, David Pitchford, Ty Johnston, Jeff Stewart, Angeline Hawkes, Robert Rhodes, E.E. Knight, James Enge, Michael Ehart, Thomas M. MacKay, Christopher Heath, Nathan Meyer, S.C. Bryce, Allen B. Lloyd, William Clunie, Steve Goble, Bruce Durham, and Harold Lamb.
Flashing Swords Press also publishes Flashing Swords, a “quarterly print and online magazine of fantasy fiction from a variety of sub-genres, including sword and sorcery; sword and planet; heroic, epic, and high fantasy; and historical and swashbuckling adventure.” The Return of the Sword is the first book in their planned “Flashing Swords Presents” series.
