Rumors have been circulating for some time about Tor Books’ new web site, which was briefly announced with free e-books (see this article). Well, Tor Editor Patrick Nielsen-Hayden has some announcements about what will be going on there. He isn’t revealing everything yet, but he does reveal some of the plans in this post.
Part of what they’re hoping to be is a social networking site for science fiction and fantasy fans, as well as an on-line publisher of fiction. There will be blogging, art, and the free e-novels will continue.
They’re planning to launch a beta version of the site in April, with the real thing coming on-line in May. Until then, let the rumor-mongering continue. Their main corporate site is not expected to be impacted.
