Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 7-13 March 2008. New release 10,000 B.C. opened in the top spot, taking in $42.9 million. The Spiderwick Chronicles, which was last week’s #4, dropped to #6 (but with three new films above it, a drop of two spots is very good), taking in $5.8 million, for a four-week box office take of $62.7 million. Jumper dropped from #5 to #8, grossing $4.6 million for a four-week total of $73.3 million.
The Eye dropped from #21 to #22, taking in just under $500 thousand, for a six-week total of $30.7 million. I Am Legend makes a return to the top 25, showing up at #24, with a box-office gross of a little less than $370 thousand, for a 13-week total of nearly $255.8 million.
