Top Box Office Grossers: Third Week of February

Variety reports the top movies of the week in terms of box office take. For the week of 15-22 February 2008, two new genre films opened at the top of the charts. Jumper debuted in the #1 spot, grossing nearly $37 million in its first full week in release, for a total box-office take of $43.6 million. The Spiderwick Chronicles debuted in the #2 spot, with a full-week take of $28.6 million for a total box-office take of $31 million.
The Eye dropped from #4 to #12, taking in $4.4 million, for a three-week total of $27.5 million. Untraceable dropped from #13 to #15, bringing in $2.4 million for a four-week total of $27.8 million. Cloverfield was down from #14 to #21, taking in $1.6 million, for a five-week total of $78.4 million. Disney’s Enchanted returned to the top 25, coming in at #25, with a box office take of $600 thousand for a 13-week total of $126.7 million.
