Nelson Bond Room opening at Marshall University

Nelson Bond’s alma mater, Marshall University, is building a replica of his office, and will dedicate it and the Nelson Bond Room in their special collections library on 18 and 19 April.
Bond wrote in many genres, and was named Author Emeritus by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America in 1998. He died in November 2006, about two weeks before his 98th birthday. According to Marshall, Bond “stands as one of the significant writers of fantasy and science fiction of the 20th century.” He wrote more than 250 short stories and adapted many of them for radio and television. This page contains many links to everything about Bond’s professional life.
We heard about the upcoming ceremonies from Mythic Delirium Editor Mike Allen, who considered Bond a friend and mentor. Marshall has asked Allen to be the guest speaker at the dedication ceremony, and Allen in turn is asking “those who are familiar with Bond’s work” to send him “any Nelson Bond stories you might have, about him or his stories, that I could share when I speak at this event.” Send stories to Mike Allen at mythicdelirium at gmail dot com.
