Character actor Perry Lopez died 14 February 2008 of lung cancer. Born 22 July 1931 in New York City, he was perhaps best known for his role as Lt. Lou Escobar in the 1974 film Chinatown.
He started his acting career on the stage before moving into movies with an uncredited role in Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954). His other genre appearances were on television series, including: Airwolf (1985), two episodes of The Wild Wild West (1967 and 1969), Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1968), two episodes of Tarzan (1967), Star Trek (1966), and two episodes of The Time Tunnel (1966).
