Actor Christopher Allport died in an avalanche in Wrightwood, California, on 25 January 2008. Born in Santa Monica on 17 June 1947, was a character actor and an avid skier, and died while at the Mountain High ski resort. Ironically, he had written an article on backcountry skiing that appeared in the Los Angeles Times in 2004. In the article, he said “Any excursion into the mountains requires awareness. Have fun, but be careful.”
His genre film appearances include: Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman (2000), Kindred: The Embraced (1996), Jack Frost (1996), Invaders from Mars (1986), Dead & Buried (1981), and Savage Weekend (1979). He also made several genre tv appearances, including: The Invisible Man (2001), The X Files (1994), Quantum Leap (1991), and The Twilight Zone (1985).
Allport is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bohannan, whom he married in 1979.
