Variety reports the top movies of the week in terms of box office take. For the week of 25-31 January 2008, only two genre films were in the top ten: Cloverfield at #4, taking in $14.2 million in its second week in release, for a total of $65.8 million. Untraceable opened at #5, bringing in $12.8 million.
I Am Legend is in the #16 spot in its seventh week in release, grossing $2.5 million this week for a total take of nearly $252 million. Sweeney Todd, in its sixth week, is at #19, with a box office of $1.4 million for a total of $50.8 million. And The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, at #23, took in three quarters of a million dollars for a five-week total of $39.6 million.
