The Dreamland Chronicles marks two years with four million readers

Sunday 13 January marked the second anniversary of Scott Christian Sava’s The Dreamland Chronicles, which is serialized online. The publisher, Blue Dream Studios, noted that “in a moment of serendipity, [the series] reached its 4 millionth unique reader the same weekend.” On the site, “a new page in the epic story of Alex and his friends’ adventures in Dreamland and the coming war with the Nightmare Realm is revealed every weekday.” The serial has already been collected into two paper volumes, and the third book is scheduled to appear in July.
“I figured picking up a million new readers from January to June was a big, big deal,” said Sava. “Then I pick up two million in the six months after that! I’m blown away, and so thankful to my readers who recruit more and more fans. And with Blue Dream’s growth—we have six new titles coming out this year—and the interest from Hollywood, we’re excited about our 2008.”
The Dreamland Chronicles: Book One “collects the first four issues of the story of Alex, a young adult who used to live adventures in Dreamland as a child, but who somehow lost his way. Now, with the help of a once-thought-lost necklace, Alex reunites with Nastajia the elf princess, Paddington the rock giant, and Kiwi the fairy, and nightly visits a land filled with wondrous and fantastical creatures and lands… all while living the life of a struggling college student by day, and perhaps being the hope of Dreamland by night.”
The Dreamland Chronicles: Book Two will be published in March. It “moves the adventure forward at an exhilarating pace as Alex escapes from prison, battles the dragon king Nicodemus, visits the underwater city of Naroobi—is even given the tail of a mermaid!—and battles a kraken, all while uncovering clues to the mystery of Nastajia’s parents’ disappearance, rekindling a romance, and learning the reasons why Dreamland needs him now more than ever.”
