The Taos Toolbox Writers Workshop is a “two-week Master Class in Science Fiction and Fantasy.” Taught by Walter Jon Williams and Kelly Link (with special lecturer Stephen R. Donaldson), the workshop will be a “graduate workshop designed to bring your science fiction and fantasy writing to the next level.” They’re aiming the workshop at authors who’ve already made some sales, or who have attended other workshops such as Clarion or Odyssey.
The workshop, running 8-21 June 2008, will be in a lodge in Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico, where, they warn potential attendees, “we will be at an altitude of nearly 10,000 feet, which (according to our doc) means ‘60% oxygen saturation in a healthy adult male.’ While most people have no real problem at this altitude, people with respiratory conditions may wish to consult their physicians.”
They’re accepting applications now (paper only) along with a $35 application fee. Cost of the entire workshop (including room and most meals) is $2500. For full information, see www.taostoolbox.com/index.htm.
