Several months ago, John Scalzi either duped his readers or was tricked by them into taking donations in order to go to the Creation Museum (which is conventiently located near his mid-West home) and then share his experiences. Scalzi received an ungodly amount of donations (which he in turn donated to a worthy charity), and recently made the trip. His trip report is now publicly available on his blog. We don’t normally point readers at amusing blog posts, but this one consumed too much time in this office to not be shared. Take the time, get comfortable, and read. And once you’ve finished reading the report, click over to the 101 photographs he took (there’s a link to the flickr page), but do yourself a favor and don’t view them as a slideshow. Instead, click through one at a time: Scalzi’s titles and comments are integral parts of the experience.
Oh, and for those keeping track, we’ve decided this article fits because Scalzi’s report is either about fantasy in the real world, or it’s about science becoming fiction. Either way, if you find yourself a biblical literalist, you’ll probably not enjoy it.
