Capitol Hell takes aim at overlong presidential campaigns

Pete Von Sholly’s Capitol Hell combines the horror of this too-long US presidential campaign season with the classics of science fiction and horror movies to create a 24-entry postcard book ($11.95, ISBN 978-0-9710080-9-0, on-sale in January 2008).
“Von Sholly recombines the DNA of current White House occupants, presidential aspirants, opinionated pundits, and other contemporary figures with classic horror and sci-fi characters. No one is safe from the skin-crawling lampooning that emanates from the multi-media author/artist’s inky lab. These are some of the resulting monstrosities:
See Dickula administer a fatal Colinoscopy!
Rudy Giuliani as Nosferudy
Hillary in The Attack of the Fifty-Something Woman
Dr. McCainlove takes a nosedive
The Gorelem back from the dead to save Earth
I Married a Mormon from Outer Space
The party faithful will never let Ron Zombie die
The Clintonsteins double feature.
Barack Obama in The Empire Strikes Black.
Maher’s Attacks!
Condi Rice is The Wicked Witch of the West Wing.”
Other targets in the book include both presidents Bush, Fred Thompson, Michael Moore, Bill O’Reilly, Ann Coulter, John Kerry, Karl Rove, Al Sharpton, Jon Stewart, and John Edwards.
Von Sholly is a Hollywood storyboard artist whose credits include The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, and Mars Attacks!) and a “gadfly graphic novelist” (Extremely Weird Stories, Comic Book Nerd).
