Locus is reporting that editor, publisher, and writer Peter Haining died 19 November 2007 at the age of 67.
At the New English Library, he rose to the position of Editorial Director before leaving in the early 1970s to write full time. His few novels include The Hero (1973) and The Savage (1986), though he also wrote outside the sf/f/h genres (including non-fiction and crime) under the pen names “Ric Alexander” and “Richard Peyton.” Far more impressive, and voluminous, were the anthologies he edited. Too numerous to list here, his bibliography is available on this page. His genre non-fiction includes several Doctor Who reference books.
He won the British Fantasy Awards’ Karl Edward Wagner Award in 2001.
