Variety reports the top 25 movies for the week of 12-18 October in terms of box office take. Genre films are taking a beating, as the top genre flick, Resident Evil: Extinction, dropped from #4 to #9, bringing in $3.5 million for a four-week total of just under $49 million.
The Seeker: The Dark is Rising dropped from #6 to #11, grossing $2.8 million for a two-week total of $7.7 million. Even with the impending DVD release, Transformers held steady this week at #18, taking in another $1 million to bring its 15-week total to $317.8 million.
After six weeks in the top 25, Halloween dropped off this list.
