Variety reports the top 25 movies for the week of 14-20 September in terms of box office take. Halloween is down from #2 to #5, taking in $6.2 million, bringing its three-week ttoal to $52.4 million. New release Dragon Wars opened in sixth place with a gross of $6.1 million.
Stardust dropped from #10 to #13, taking in $1.6 million for a six-week total of $36.8 million. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix maintained its place at #15, grossing just over $1 million in its 10th week in release, and bringing its total take to $289.5 million. Underdog, last week’s #17, was this week’s #23, taking in $690 thousand for a seven-week total of $42 million. Transformers dropped from #21 to #24, this week grossing $600 thousand, for an eleven-week total of $312.2 million.
