Lou Anders, editorial director of Pyr, reports there was a fire in the main office of Prometheus Books (the publisher of his imprint) today which forced the evacuation of the building. He says “it looks like a short circuit started an electrical meter on fire and made the power go out. No real damage, thankfully no one hurt, but some rewiring will be needed.”
One of the results of the fire is that the web sites for both Prometheus and Pyr are down, and will probably be off line until sometime next week. More updates will probably be available on Anders’s personal blog.
Although, after posting this article, spot checks show the Pyr site to be intermittently available.
