Nielsen Bookscan reports that British sales of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in its first 24 hours on sale were 2,652,656 copies. That’s about 25% more than for the first day of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Bloomsbury also notes that they sold 398,271 copies of the UK edition in Germany in the first 24 hours.
Random House Audio, in the US, reports projected opening two-day sales of more than 225,000 copies of the compact disc and cassette editions, which is 40 percent more than Half-Blood Prince.
