Variety reports the top ten movies for the week of 15-21 June in terms of box office take. Once again, a genre picture tops the list: Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer took in $77.4 million in its first week in release. Other genre films in the top spots include Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (which dropped from #3 to #4), grossing $18 million this week, for a total of $279.8 million). Shrek the Third dropped from #5 to #6, grossing $13.9 million ($302.1 million total). Hostel: Part II dropped from #6 to #8 and grossed $4.8 million to give it a $16 million total. Finally, Spider-Man 3 halved last week’s take and came in at #10 with $3.7 million for a total of $331.2 million.
