Variety reports the top ten movies for the week of 8-14 June in terms of box office take. Only four genre films made the top ten (compared to six the previous week). Last week’s #1, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End dropped to #3 (grossing $29.4 million thisweek, for a total of $261.7 million). Other genre titles on the list include #5: Shrek the Third (last week’s #3; $22.1 million this week; $288.2 million total); Hostel 2 at #6 ($11.1 million in this its opening week); and Spider-Man 3 at #8 (#5 last week; $6.2 million this week; $327.5 million total).
