Quill Award Nominees Announced

As part of the incredibly long list of festivities at the recently concluded Book Expo America, the nominees for the 2007 Quill Awards were announced. The winners will be announced 22 October 2007 in a ceremony at Lincoln Center in New York City, and the awards ceremony will air five days later on NBC Television. This is the third year for the self-proclaimed “first awards program to honor excellence in publishing and include consumers in the voting process.”
A Voting Board of more than 6,000 booksellers and librarians will vote for the winners in the 18 categories. On 10 September, the winners will be announced. From 10 September to 10 October, voting will open at www.quillsvote.com for “The Book of the Year.” Participants will chose from among the 18 Quill Award winners.
To be eligible, books had to be published between 1 July 2006 and 30 June 2007.
