The Maine Festival of the Book is “a celebration of reading and writing” happening 23 and 24 June in and around Monument Square in downtown Portland, Maine. Events of particular interest to genre readers will include:
Saturday at 3PM: A Panel Discussion of the Modern Comic Strip with cartoonists Lincoln Peirce (Big Nate), Wiley Miller (Non Sequitur), and Corey Pandolph (Barkeater Lake), at Maine Historical Society.
Sunday at 1:15PM: Readings and discussion by thriller writers Elizabeth Hand and Patrick Quinlan, at Community TV.
Sunday at 2:30PM: Fantasy Writing Panel with Kristen Britain, Karen Jordon Allen, Noreen Doyle, and James Hetley, at Maine College of Art, Room 207.
