New small press Blind Eye Books is an “independent press, dedicated to publishing science-fiction and fantasy stories with gay and lesbian protagonists,” is considering submissions for an original anthology entitled Tangle. They’re looking for “character-driven science fiction, fantasy, or paranormal romance featuring gay or lesbian protagonists. Sexual content—even explicit content—is fine, but there must be a story to support it.”
They’re actually producing two editions, Tangle XY and Tangle XX (in their terms, the “boy’s edition” and the “girl’s edition”). They’ve filled XY, but are still reading for XX until 1 September 2007.
Payment, upon acceptance, will be $10 for stories up to 20,000 words, and “up to $50” for stories up to 40,000 words. Guidelines and submission address are on this page.
They also note that they’ll start accepting submissions for novels in October.
