Director Curtis Harrington died 6 May 2007. He’d never fully recovered from a stroke suffered in 2005, but the immediate cause of death was not released. Born 17 September 1928 in Los Angeles, California, his last work was 2002’s Usher—a short film based on Edgar Allan Poe’s “Fall of the House of Usher”—which he wrote, directed, and starred in.
Harrington’s other genre work, as a director, includes the films: What’s the Matter with Helen? (1971), Whoever Slew Auntie Roo? (also known as Who Slew Auntie Roo?, (1971), Queen of Blood (1966), Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet (1965), and Night Tide (1961).
His tv movies include: Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell (1978), The Dead Don’t Die (1975), Killer Bees (1974), The Cat Creature (1973), and How Awful About Allan (1970).
He also directed episodes of: The Twilight Zone (1987), Darkroom (1981), Logan’s Run (1977), and Tales of the Unexpected (1977).
