Heliotrope Magazine is now reading submissions for issue #4, currently scheduled for March 2008 (issue #3 is due out this October). They’ve recently updated their writers’ guidelines, and say they are “looking for exceptional fiction that does not exceed 5,000 words. We are most interested in Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, and Horror. If your story is somewhere in between or is something you can’t label—we are interested in that as well.” They’re offering 10 cents a word on publication.
Heliotrope is also looking for poetry, nonfiction, and art, but they have very specialized wants (detailed in the guidelines).
