Actor Dabbs Greer dies

Actor Dabbs Greer died of kidney and heart failure on 28 April 2007. Born Robert William Greer on 2 April 1917, in Fairview, Missouri, he’ll be remembered as the first person saved by Superman in the very first episode of the Adventures of Superman television series in 1952. His role was uncredited, but he was brought back to appear in a major role in the second season’s premiere episode, and once again in 1958. His first (uncredited) appearance was in 1949, and we was first credited on-screen in 1950. His last appearance came in a 2003 episode of Lizzie McGuire. In between, he had hundreds of television and film roles.
His other genre television appearances include: Starman (1986), The Greatest American Hero (1982), The Incredible Hulk (1978), Shazam! (1975), Ghost Story (also known as Circle of Fear, 1973), six episodes of The Ghost & Mrs. Muir (1968-69), The Invaders (1967), two episodes of The Outer Limits (1964), two episodes of The Twilight Zone (1962-63), three episodes of Science Fiction Theatre (1955-56), and Space Patrol (1951).
His film roles include appearances in: The Green Mile (1999), House IV (1992), Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat (1991), Evil Town (1987), It! The Terror from Beyond Space (1958), The Vampire (1957), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), and House of Wax (1953).
