The British Science Fiction Awards for 2006 were presented in a ceremony on 7 April at Contemplation, the 58th National British science fiction convention (Eastercon).
The award for Best Novel went to End of the World Blues by Jon Courtenay Grimwood (published by Gollancz).
The award for Best Short Fiction went to “The Djinn’s Wife” by Ian McDonald (published in Asimov’s Science Fiction‘s June 2006 issue).
The award for Best Artwork went to “Angelbot” by Fangorn (which was the cover of Time Pieces edited by Ian Whates).
The award for Best Non-Fiction was not presented. Instead, Geoff Ryman read out the BSFA Recommended Reading List for the award. That list included:
