Moon’s Second Bestseller

Agent Joshua Bilmes (of JABberwocky Literary Agency) reports that Elizabeth Moon’s Command Decision has made it to the New York Times extended hardcover bestseller list. It will be #31 on the 18 March list. Command Decision is the fourth title in the Vatta’s War series.
This is Moon’s second straight book to make the list; she hit #29 last year with Engaging the Enemy, number three in the series.
First week sales of Command Decision were up 25% better than Engaging the Enemy. Del Rey Books has already gone into a second printing for a total of 22,500 copies, compared with a 20,000 copy-total for three of Engaging the Enemy.
The Vatta’s War series is also selling well overseas, Bilmes says. All four books have been Science Fiction Book Club Main Selections, and the first three (Trading in Danger and Marque and Reprisal were the first two) have been sold to Hayakawa in Japan and to ISA in Poland. Volume one has also sold to Azbooka in Russia and Mordor in Sweden.
