In anticipation of the two-hour premiere of Blood Ties this Sunday, 11 March, at 9PM on Lifetime television, the network has launched a big new web site. The site will have: video features with author Tanya Huff interviewing the TV show cast members; a photo gallery of the cast; Huff’s Blood Ties blog, which she’ll update each Monday with her reaction to the prior night’s episode; downloadable scenes from the series; and more.
As previously noted, the Canadian CHUM network will be airing the series starting a few weeks later. And now the British network, Living, has recently purchased the entire first season, and will begin airing it this summer.
Based on the books by Tanya Huff, Blood Ties the series is produced by Toronto’s Kaleidoscope Entertainment and Vancouver’s Insight Film Studios in association with CHUM Television. The show “follows the misadventures of Vicki Nelson—played by Christina Cox—a determined 29-year-old ex-cop turned private investigator with a degenerative eye disorder. After witnessing a horrific murder, she finds herself caught up with a 450-year-old vampire and bastard son of King Henry VIII, named Henry Fitzroy (played by Kyle Schmid), who is also investigating the murder. Vicki’s professional relationship with Henry draws her into more intriguing cases that involve a pantheon of occult adversaries, with their unlikely alliance soon progressing beyond a professional arrangement. This creates a love triangle dilemma for Vicki alongside her relationship with her ex-partner, Detective Mike Celluci, played by Dylan Neal. Award-winning producer and writer Peter Mohan created the series.”
