Mass Effect novel sells to Del Rey

Drew Karpyshyn sold Mass Effect: Revelation to Keith Clayton at Del Rey, for an anticipated release in May. The novel, along with a second that is part of the deal, is a “prequel novel to the award-winning video game from BioWare.” Karpyshyn is the lead writer of the Mass Effect video game.
Of the story, Del Rey says “In Mass Effect: Revelation, commander and Alliance war hero David Anderson investigates the remains of a top secret military research station; smoking ruins littered with bodies and unanswered questions. Partnered with a rogue alien agent he can’t trust and pursued by an assassin he can’t escape, Anderson battles impossible odds on uncharted worlds to uncover a sinister conspiracy.”
Canadian author Karpyshyn previously wrote Star Wars: Darth Bane: Path of Destruction. He is also the lead writer for Mass Effect and was the lead writer for the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game.
