A press release from the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library:

Esteemed Friends of the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library,
The excitement has reached a fever pitch, and we are all anxious to get to Night of Vonnegut with keynote speaker David Brancaccio of NPR’s Marketplace Morning Report. Join us at the Athenaeum Theater on Saturday, April 19, at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available for our event and can be found at http://www.vonnegutlibrary.org/events/night-of-vonnegut/.
We have added a new feature this year: electronic bidding on all silent auction items. Hosted by ABC (Auctions by Cellular), all bidding will be done through your own cell phone or computer. You can bid from anywhere, anytime before the close of the auction right from your own device. You even get an update if you are outbid. And with the generous donations from some of your favorite local and national businesses, the items are nice, nice, very nice
Silent Auction Update:
- Click on http://Vonnegut.myab.co, register for the event, view the items and begin BIDDING!
- After you register, you will get a welcome text message. There are four ways to bid:
- By text: Text the 3-digit item number and amount to the welcome message you receive, e.g., 101 500. No dollar signs or decimals are needed.
- By smartphone: Click the link in your registration text. It will take you to a personal bidding page. Click on an item to place a bid.
- By computer: Click on an item to place a bid.
- By “personal shopper” on event night: Find an ABC staff member in a RED shirt. They will be happy to place your bids for you.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@vonnegutlibrary.org should you have any questions between now and the event. The Vonnegut Library would also like to thank all of the generous businesses, nonprofits, and individuals that donated items for this event.
We can’t wait to see you there!
With great anticipation,
The Vonnegut Library Staff
