New Rowena Cory Daniells omnibus for Solaris

A press release from John Jarrold:rowena72

David Moore, editor at Solaris Books, acquired omnibus rights in a fantasy trilogy called Fall of Fair Isle by Australian fantasy writer Rowena Cory Daniells. The agent is John Jarrold, and the deal is for World English Language rights. The book is due for publication in 2014 — and will also appear in e-book editions.

Solaris have already published Daniells’ King Rolen’s Kin trilogy Outcast Chronicles trilogy very successfully, as well as King Breaker, which completed the story of King Rolen’s Kin. This series has been published in the US and Australia as The Last T’en, and Rowena has edited it for this edition.

Rowena Cory Daniells first became involved in speculative fiction in 1976. Since then she has run a bookshop, then a graphic art studio where she illustrated children’s books, had 6 children in 10 years, sold nearly 30 children’s books and an earlier fantasy trilogy internationally, established R&D Studios and served on the management committees of state and national arts organisations. She lives by the bay in Brisbane with her husband and children, and has a Masters in Arts (Research).

She has impressive credentials. My best friend had 5 kids and I saw how much work that was for her and here’s a woman who has done so much and raised 6 children. Talk about multi-tasking and going above and beyond the call of duty. A woman who knows how to manage her time and her humanity it would seem. Very inspiriing. I wish her the best.
