Editor-in-Chief Lynne M. Thomas announces her impending departure from Apex Magazine, following the December 2013 issue. She explains her reason simply: “I’m in need of break, after which I’m looking forward to exploring new opportunities and projects. Managing Editor Michael Damian Thomas will be stepping down with me.”

Thomas will have been with the magazine for two years; she took over in November 2011 when Catherynne M. Valente left the editorial chair.

The online magazine, she notes, will continue. “Publisher Jason Sizemore plans on continuing the magazine. Michael and I are working closely with the incoming editor to ensure a smooth transition.”
