Subscribers to our e-book edition have already had a chance to read these works and those upcoming in September, so if that piques your interest, we hope you’ll consider supporting us. Subscriptions allow us to keep buying more stories and poems.

And as an added bonus this month, we’ve added three classic poems from the print version of Mythic Delirium to the site. Each has a special place in the ‘zine’s history.

  • Song for an Ancient City” by Amal El-Mohtar won the 2009 Rhysling Award. Our featured page includes a translation of the poem into Arabic by Oussama El-Mohtar, Amal’s father, and readings of both versions by daughter and father.
  • In the Astronaut Asylum” by Samantha Henderson and Kendall Evans won the Rhysling Award in 2010. The authors’ wonderful reading is one of the best ways to experience this surreal epic.
  • The Melancholy of Mechagirl” by Catherynne M. Valente is now the title piece of her acclaimed fiction and poetry collection from Haikasoru.
