A press release from LoneStarCon 3:
LoneStarCon 3, the 71st World Science Fiction Convention (“Worldcon”), has released its fifth and final Progress Report (PR5). This Progress Report has been published in electronic format only, and can be found on the LoneStarCon 3 website at www.LoneStarCon3.org/publications/pr5.shtml.
With the convention only a week away, Progress Report 5 brings members up to date with the latest plans for events, exhibits, and programming. These include a guided coach tour to the Robert E. Howard House and Museum; a ghost walking tour of San Antonio; art, music, and dance events; an independent film festival; the world premiere of “Lakeside,” a documentary featuring author Jay Lake; and a range of programming highlights with the Guests of Honor and Special Guests.
The music and dance events feature many popular artists including “Los Paisanos de Chalito Johnson” and “Scott Bradlee and his Postmodern Jukebox,” and will bring a taste of Texas to convention attendees — as will the many restaurants on the nearby River Walk.
The ever-expanding range of exhibits includes displays on Star Trek, Dr. Who, Robert E. Howard, artwork from Dungeons and Dragons, SF music, and the history of Worldcon and the Hugo Awards.
Progress Report 5 also includes a range of information designed to help members make the most of their time in San Antonio, including travel guidance and tourism recommendations, as well as a confirmation of opening hours for all convention areas and amenities.
