Caffeine Night Publishing has proudly signed best-selling British horror writing legend Shaun Hutson to publish his forthcoming novel Monolith as well as his backlist beginning with four titles to be published in October. The first four backlist titles to start are Spawn, Relics, Assassin and Renegades.

Monolith is the first original Shaun Hutson novel since Epitaph in 2010 and will be published in 2014. Once dubbed the bad boy of British horror, Hutson has never been afraid to tackle subjects many of his contemporaries would baulk at.

“Horror has been sidetracked into Mills & Boon vampire love stories for pre-pubescent girls. That’s all changing; we live in darker times and real horror writing should reflect that. I wanted a publisher who will respect that.” Shaun commented.

Managing director of Caffeine Nights, Darren Laws said, “We believe Shaun should be Britain’s number one horror writer with his backlist, craft and imagination and we intend to put him right back there. Shaun has an extremely vibrant and dedicated legion of fans and I am honoured to be publishing these titles and his new novel, Monolith.”

Caffeine Nights are totally redesigning the backlist covers for the 21st century, many of which will be available in eBook format for the first time. “Shaun’s older books are as relevant now as they have always been. We are giving them a new coat and presenting them to a new audience as well as his many loyal fans. His new book, Monolith, is going to not only please his existing fans but will gain him many new ones.  Signing Shaun, the Godfather of Gore, is a major coup for an independent publisher of our size and we’re grateful to Shaun and his agent, Brie Burkeman, for giving us this chance.” Darren said.
