The Dark Apostle website launch

A press release from E.C. Ambrose:915COxpWcuL

Author E.C. Ambrose is proud to announce the launch of www.TheDarkApostle.com, a website to support the author’s forthcoming dark historical fantasy series with DAW Books. The series begins July 2 with Elisha Barber: barber-surgeon in 14th century England who seeks redemption as a medic during an unjust war, and is drawn into the perilous world of sorcery by a beautiful witch.

In support of the series’ historical and medical themes, the website includes an extensive bibliography of research materials, along with links and organizations of interest. Under “Extras” readers will find an interactive image where they can scroll over to learn more about the surgical instruments displayed on the cover. The author’s integrated blog features articles about the intersections between history and fantasy, including a chronology of gunpowder weapons in 14th century England and an examination of the world-building suggested by Bilbo Baggins’ bathrobe in the recent film, The Hobbit.

Sample chapters from Elisha Barber are now be available here. Readers can also sign up for email news about the publication, and receive a free short story set in a London brothel of the 14th century.
